confessions of a strip club barman: signing out

Getting back from my first break I stood in the bar, staring out at the packed club. It was a Saturday night and the bar was the busiest that I’ve seen it in a long time, but I was the only barman on again.

Letting out a long sigh I thumbed the clip that held the cheap bowtie in place around my neck and didn’t bother to see where it fell. I turned to the manager at the end of the bar.

“This’ll be my last shift mate”

His attention quickly shifted from the ruckus coming from the bucks night surrounding the stage.

He knew I was serious because I’d never complained about the job before and never threatened to quit, but I couldn’t give him a straight answer.

It was a lot of things.

I’m quite happy that I no longer have to talk to some of the select dreg’s of society that was always on offer. I’ll miss hearing all the silly things that the girls used to go on with.

I’ve still got lots of stories that I haven’t blogged about so there will still be the occasional ‘confessions’ posts coming up. The job just stopped being fun so I decided it was time to go.

Now I just have to decide what I will do for cash now… any ideas?
